Kristine Calder

Kristine has 35 years of dance experience. She has trained extensively in all forms of dance in the LA and Orange County areas. She attended California State University Long Beach where she received her degree and danced for the nationally rank and recognized Dance Team led Ray Lozano. A year later, she received her master’s degree in Education specializing in multi-ethnic studies. Her experiences in performance include dancing for the ABA, Professional Arena Football, Warner brothers, Team USA Dancer for Japan International Dance Nationals, numerous hollywood industrials, modeled and danced for professional hair shows and was a parade cast member at Disneyland.  She has also received 1 of the 2 coveted dance educator scholarships awarded at the Pulse Dance Convention. She has received several honors, such as 5 consecutive Golden Apple Awards, where she was nominated by her students, named as a top teacher for Who’s who among American Teachers twice, nominated for teacher of the year for San Juan Hills High School in 2016, and was named the Orange County Dance Educator of the Year for 2005 and 2015 by The Orange County Music & Arts Administrators. She teaches 200 kids on a weekly basis and has been teaching for the Capistrano Unified School  District since 2000 and previously coached the national champion song, cheer and dance teams at Dana Hills High School for 8 years. She started a modern dance conservatory in 2015 to help guide the students who want to pursue dance in the collegiate or professional level. In 2018, she started advising a club on campus called “Koreographer’s club” where students who have a passion and love for KPOP music gather every tuesday and dance. Her life motto is “your character is your destiny.”
